In Honor & Remembrance Oral History Project

The Warren County Historical Society's “In Honor & Remembrance” oral history project is an opportunity for Warren County Veterans to share the stories of their experiences and sacrifices from the time they served in our nation’s armed services. The Ohio History Connection grant enables us to have the funds to accomplish this project. The Historical Society is seeking to interview veterans who served in any capacity in any of the branches of the armed services in any of our nation’s wars or conflicts.

Interviews will be conducted by the Warren County Historical Society staff and will be audio-recorded. A picture of the veteran will also be taken. The recordings will be transcribed and archived and each veteran interviewed will receive a copy of the transcription of his or her interview.

Interviews are being scheduled by appointment for Tuesday Mornings, Thursday mornings, and Thursday afternoons. The interviews last approximately 1 hour. A release form must be signed by each interviewee, giving Warren County History Center permission to use the interview as needed. Interviews can be held at the Warren County History Center, located at 105 S. Broadway, Lebanon, OH 45036, or, if needed, an interview can be conducted at the veteran’s home.

If you would be interested, or know someone who would like to share their story, please contact John Zimkus or Jeanne Doan at the Warren County Historical Society: or 513-932-1817
