The leather postcard was one of the earliest types of postcards in this country. Although such postcards were in vogue from 1900 to 1915, their appeal began to wane once printed postcards became prevalent.

The following advertising cards and placards were in part contained in the packaged products they advertised as well as some were used on product stands in the stores they were sold in. Some of them date back into the latter half of the 1800s.
