On May 6th, 1940, Hazel Spencer Phillips began the Warren County Historical Society. Although, Hazel herself acknowledged that the idea to begin the society came from members of the Hill History Club, Mrs. Phillips was a key leader and driving force for the organization’s first three decades. For 82 years, the Warren County Historical Society has been entrusted with preserving the rich history of Warren County. We would like to show our respect to the founders of this steadfast institution, as well as everyone whos hard work and trust has made it what it is today, a landmark in our community, connecting our present with our past. We'll also be celebrating the dedication of the Warren County Teachers' Monument, the only one of its kind in the County. After 60 years in storage, we've repurposed the Pleasant Street School bell to honor not only teachers but aids, office workers, and all other staff and volunteers of the Warren County school systems, past, present, and future. Schedule of Events: 6pm - Open doors for tours and refreshments 7pm - Dedication of Teachers' Monument (open for tours again, immediately after the dedication) 9pm - Close This is a FREE event. Refreshments will be available and free tours will be given of Harmon Museum and 1795 Beedle Log Cabin. |
